Wednesday Night Movie - Light of the World
Wednesday May 14, 2025 7:00pm - 9:00pm CDT
Join us Wednesday night to watch Light of the World!
It’s 30 AD and everyone is expectantly awaiting the coming Messiah. While Jesus isn’t exactly what they imagined, there is something special about this man. Soon, John, James, Andrew, Peter, and others begin to follow Jesus on an unexpected adventure. This beautifully animated story of Jesus is told through the eyes of his beloved young friend, the Apostle John. From the beginning of Jesus’ ministry through his crucifixion and resurrection, LIGHT OF THE WORLD powerfully illustrates how Jesus of Nazareth changed the world forever and still changes lives today!
LIGHT OF THE WORLD releases in theaters, Summer 2025.

This event is free and is on Wednesday, May 14th at 7 pm

A Scientist’s Showcase of Amazing Creatures That Defy Evolutionary Theory
Thursday May 15, 2025 10:30am - 11:20am CDT
The secular world tells us evolution is a fact. How do we answer? The topic of origins is important, because many students don’t feel equipped to give an answer, and many struggle with this topic. Amazingly, science is continually revealing features of our world that don’t fit with evolutionary theory. Moreover, there is increasing scientific support for a Designer! This fast-moving, high-energy workshop covers several organisms whose features defy evolution. From dolphins and sharks to glow-in-the-dark bacteria, we’ll see how science is discovering that all creatures are far from simple.

Having Confident Grace in Homeschooling
Thursday May 15, 2025 10:30am - 11:20am CDT
Confidence Grace may seem like conflicting concepts but they are, in fact, perfect partners. In homeschooling specifically there are four main areas of confidence that can create struggles, confidence in ourselves, choosing & using curriculum, teaching methods and in the students themselves. Where there is a lack of confidence it requires an extension of grace, but is there such a thing as too much grace? My desire is to encourage, inspire and teach how to build confidence graciously and how to confidently extend grace. This session will show how Confident Grace in homeschooling is a must.

That's Impossible!
Thursday May 15, 2025 10:30am - 11:20am CDT
The presence of instinct in animals provides some of the best evidence for original design in nature. All creatures have it, and the wide array of abilities is staggering! However, it doesn’t stop there. From instinct we move on to symbiotic relationships, particularly “mutualism”, which is nothing short of impossible from a naturalistic perspective. Spiritual blindness is the only answer to this dilemma that many otherwise reasonable people are caught in. However, even Christians can sometimes fall prey to compromises...

Thursday May 15, 2025 4:20pm - 5:10pm CDT
Jesus brought some hard truths to the 1st century culture when He walked the earth for 33 years. Some people loved him while others hated him and wanted him dead. Some things never change. America is becoming increasingly secular and anti-Christian attitudes and behaviors are gaining ground. Homeschooling brings with it an unhealthy stigma along with a unique set of challenges. Welcome to life as a Christ follower. So, how do you live it out successfully? How do you relate to and interact with outsiders? How do you handle relationships with the LGBTQ people in your life? Job gives us an optimistic grip on how to understand the world around us and of history, and elicits thanksgiving and praise for the sovereignty of his Grace and Mercy.

“He never talks to me.” “My teens are so disrespectful.” “I have no idea what she’s thinking.” “They’re so ugly to each other.” “I wish we could just talk.” We hear these things all the time from families. It’s easy to get into a cycle of communicating badly with each other, but it doesn’t have to be that way! The Word of God gives us a lot of really practical advice about communicating with one another, but it’s hard to know what that looks like in real life. Come learn how to turn that advice into action, change your family culture for the better, improve your relationships, and laugh a little, too.

Capturing the heart of your child through the words you speak and using our words to reflect the heart of God
Friday May 16, 2025 12:50pm - 1:40pm CDT
It's easy in the midst of our days, when attention may be divided among multiple children or many to-do's (plus homeschool), to let our words be the last thing we think about. But they shouldn't be. The Bible has a lot to say on how we are to guard our tongue and use it to speak life. Proverbs 18:21 says "The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences." If you, like me and the rest of the world, have ever had moments where your words got the better of you-especially to your kids, then this is going to be a time of practical and Biblical encouragement.

And praying over our children/what God has for them, even when we can't see it, is powerful. Speaking life into their lives impacts their identity positively for life! Anger is a natural emotion, but when left unchecked, it can lead to frustration, broken relationships, and spiritual distance from God. The Bible warns parents of the seriousness of unchecked anger in our children, so in The Roots of Anger: Teaching Children to Handle Emotions Biblically, David will dive into understanding the foundational nature of anger and explore how to guide children through it in a way that honors God.

This workshop will equip parents with:
• A biblical perspective on anger and its root causes.
• Practical strategies to help children channel anger in a productive, godly direction.
• Insights into how unchecked anger can lead children away from the Lord and ways to prevent it.
• A deeper understanding of what triggers anger (anxiety, frustration, injustice) and how to respond with love and wisdom.
• Tools for modeling repentance and reconciliation when you, as a parent, make mistakes.

By the end of this workshop, you’ll have the tools to create a home environment where anger is handled biblically, strengthening your relationship with your children and guiding them in emotional growth and spiritual maturity.

Explore the profound impact of gratitude on learning outcomes in this enlightening workshop. Can Thanksgiving enhance your student’s academic performance or deepen their understanding of spiritual teachings? Many educators and mentors often attribute comprehension solely to the student’s intelligence or the teaching method’s efficacy. However, recent scientific research and timeless wisdom from the Bible suggest that the readiness of the heart and mind before receiving instruction is paramount in knowledge acquisition. Is the soil of your student’s inner landscape primed to absorb what you impart? Discover how planting the seed of knowledge in the heart of gratitude fosters a fertile ground for growth and leads to bountiful harvests of learning. Join us as we delve into practical strategies for incorporating gratitude into education and spiritual mentoring, empowering you to cultivate a thriving environment for knowledge dissemination and absorption.

Parental Inferiority Complex—When Our Kids Go Astray
Saturday May 17, 2025 11:00am - 11:50am CDT
We have a little wooden block at home that read, "As far as anybody knows, we are a nice, normal family." Yeah, right. Our family history is kinda messy despite homeschooling all four of our kids. We thought we mostly did the right things, and we certainly tried as hard as we could, but all four of our kids have made some BAD choices. How much of that should we "own" as parents? Are we to blame for their poor choices? And if we are, can we also take credit for their good ones? Where is God in all of that? This is an open and honest workshop in a homeschool world that sometimes isn't.

An Unbeatable Homeschool Team
Saturday May 17, 2025 1:30pm - 2:20pm CDT
Marriage is hard…in fact, it’s real hard! Yet when it is right and good, it can withstand anything. It doesn’t matter what the economy does, the status of your bank account, the condition of your home or vehicles, or what your children dish out…because when a husband and wife are right, they’re unbeatable.

On the flip side, when a husband and wife feel distant or apathetic, it only takes the slightest breeze to ruffle a bunch of feathers. The truth is a mediocre marriage sucks the joy right out of life and your homeschool. The economy can swing up, your checking account can be healthy, your home and vehicles can purr like kittens, and the kids can behave like angels, and life still…stinks.

That’s because marriage matters.

Join Todd Wilson, The Familyman, for a time of laughter and encouragement as he shares real life stories, problems, and frustrations along with practical, simple solutions to having a marriage that can‘t be beat!

Saturday May 17, 2025 1:30pm - 2:20pm CDT
Do you hope your child approaches dating a little bit differently than you did? Maybe a LOT of bit differently? Or maybe you struggle to adapt what worked for you to the current cultural landscape. Then let's address the 6 Dating Questions (Everyone Should Answer Before They Ever Date).

In this workshop for parents (and their teens) we’ll address the who, what, where, when, why, and how of healthy dating, sharing practical, biblical realities we all wish we had considered sooner! And we’ll cover these topics in such a way to empower parents to pursue consensus that encourages connection with their teen instead of laying down limits that create conflict.

All principles come from the book, Date Like You Know What You're Doing: Your DatePrep Guide, available in audio, e-book, paperback, and accompanied by a video curriculum.

Teaching your Middle Schooler
Saturday May 17, 2025 1:30pm - 2:20pm CDT
As children mature they experience major changes: physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual. It’s a natural (and good!) adjustment to adulthood. Homeschoolers have the blessed position to tailor schedules, educational methods, and availability to help them along the way. They’ll need more sleep, more time to adjust to abstract thinking, more understanding, and more showers! Join Sherri as she shares how to homeschool and parent during this fun and exciting time. Her research studies in middle school brain development shed much light on these newly-formed “nocturnal humans” in your home.

The Far Syde!
Saturday May 17, 2025 1:30pm - 2:20pm CDT
We know that God is incredibly innovative and diverse as expressed in His creation of every living creature. It’s astounding! Beauty, purpose and order are abundantly evident. However, so is the curse! Romans 8:22 claims that the creation is groaning because of sin and the curse. What was once totally beautiful is now stained with odd, bizarre, and uncanny expressions. Some things are ugly indeed, but even in this, there is amazing design! What appears to us as horrible still cannot happen if instinct and purpose are not built in! WARNING: No children without a parent present!

A Peek Behind the Curtain: Demystifying Computer Programming
Saturday May 17, 2025 3:00pm - 3:50pm CDT
Many see computer programming as an obscure blend of strange words and symbols only a few understand. Traditional computer science courses put theory ahead of practice, explaining the what before providing the why. However, there are just 5 foundational concepts, simple enough for anyone to grasp and common to nearly every programming language. Further, there are tools and resources that make programming more accessible than ever before. This session will explore these basic concepts and some available resources so that you’ll be comfortable incorporating programming into your homeschool.

Getting Kids to Work
Saturday May 17, 2025 3:00pm - 3:50pm CDT
People complain all the time that their children are lazy and unmotivated, but only 28% of American families give their children any chores at all. At all. We teach our children right from wrong, we teach our children to read and write, but forget to teach them how to work. God gave us no choice. With eight bedrest pregnancies and then a full-time ministry and business, we had to get the kids on board or drown. Come get practical strategies for teaching your children to be diligent – to get their schoolwork done, to do chores, to take initiative, and to be confident in their abilities – at all ages. Help your kids to get out of the wagon and start pulling it, cheerfully. Really, you can do it!

How I Use Artifacts to Teach History
Saturday May 17, 2025 3:00pm - 3:50pm CDT

Politics…Nasty but Necessary
Saturday May 17, 2025 3:00pm - 3:50pm CDT
I’ve been teaching civics to homeschoolers since 2012 and was a Christian talk radio show host for 16 years…and a political activist to boot. Most of my students take the class became mom and dad make them…but by the time it’s over, they understand why civics is such an important topic. If you think politics and government is just for older people, or not relevant to you as a teenager, then YOU are part of the problem. Ignorance is killing America as much as the Spirit of the Age. Don’t be part of the problem. Don’t be a fool. Wake up to the reality that your future is being shaped and impacted—to a large extent— by government, and you need to understand why it’s happening and what you can do as a Christian to push back.

Not What I Had Planned
Saturday May 17, 2025 4:20pm - 5:10pm CDT
As homeschool parents we spend a lot of time and energy making plans for our students, our days, our homes—our lives! And that’s good. But what do you do when your plans are interrupted? In April 2024 Sonya was diagnosed with breast cancer, and life suddenly didn’t look anything like she had planned. As she floundered through the next several months, God graciously met her where she was and reassured her that this unexpected bend in the road was not a surprise to Him. In fact, He had planned this part of her story all along. In this session she will share spiritual truth and practical ideas for when you walk through uncertain times and are challenged to let go of your plans and trust God’s plans.

Stop the POPP: Help Perfectionistic, Overachieving People-Pleasers Become Resilient Kids
Saturday May 17, 2025 4:20pm - 5:10pm CDT
If your child shows signs of perfectionism, relentless overachieving, or excessive authority- pleasing, the time to address these habits is NOW. It's not too early, and it's never too late! We'll examine how your words, actions, and family dynamics may unintentionally fuel your children's POPP tendencies; learning to help them break through rigidity and fragility now has lifelong benefits. Parents must provide healthy boundaries so kids can take “safe” risks and learn to handle disappointment and frustration. Children become resilient by learning from mistakes instead of fearing them! Celebrate Kids’ colleague Lauren Roman conveys invaluable life lessons from her own journey as a "recovering perfectionist," as well as key concepts from Dr. Kathy Koch's popular book Resilient Kids.
